Meet the Team
Sean Fox, founder, piano, guitar, bass, jazz, music theory, started Fox Music in 2014. In addition to years of classical training, Sean studied privately under acclaimed jazz pianist Kirk Reese of Messiah College, and acclaimed jazz vibraphonist Ed Saindon of Berklee College of Music. Sean teaches both classical and jazz piano, as well as Music Theory, Jazz, and Improvisation to other instrumentalists. He is currently studying Byzantine Chanting at the School of Byzantine Music and enjoys singing in the choir at his church. He provides lessons to motivated beginners, intermediate, and advanced musicians in-studio and online via FaceTime/Skype.
Marcy Fox, voice, violin, piano, musical theatre. Marcy has been teaching at and managing Fox Music since 2014. In addition to her violin studies with Reading Symphony Orchestra violinist Todd Sullivan, Marcy has studied classical vocal technique under notable soprano Othalie Graham and Metropolitan Opera House guest Catherine Martin. With a love for physical fitness and wellbeing, and as a Certified Yoga Teacher, Marcy's teaching style emphasizes strengthening proper muscle groups, posture, and safe technique. Her endless patience allows her to work with students of all ages and learning styles, and to direct the musical theatre program at Fox Music. When she's not teaching, Marcy enjoys playing with her 3 children.
Mark Roberts, drums. Mark has played drums in a variety of musical situations covering a wide range of styles. Although focusing primarily on rock and jazz stylings, he also has experience playing in orchestral and marching band settings. Mark has taken what he's learned from years of study with local teachers, clinics, and a semester at Berklee College of Music and combined those ideas into a playing and teaching style that focuses on philosophy, creativity, and technique.
Macayla Symonds, student teacher, cello, Macayla Symonds has participated in multiple ensembles and programs designed for talented students and performers in music and theatrical performance. A junior at Twin Valley High School, Macayla has played the cello for 8 years, studying privately on her instrument for 6 years. She is the principal cellist of the TVHS Symphonic Orchestra, a member of the Chester County Youth Orchestra, and has been a part of MEBC Junior/Senior County and PMEA District 10 orchestras. She has participated in summer programs with the Philadelphia International Music Festival, Rocky Ridge Music Center in Estes Park, Colorado, and Summer Studies at Eastman School of Music. She has performed solo and chamber performances for multiple years and has been teaching cello for the past two years. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with others, whether it be through an audience or her students. Macayla is hoping to major in music performance for cello and music education. She is also a choral vocalist who has participated in County, District, and Region Festivals.
In addition, Macayla enjoys performing as an actor. She first participated in Twin Valley's production of "Newsies" in 7th grade as an ensemble member. She then played the role of Pepper in her freshman year in TVHS's 2022 production of "Annie". She was an ensemble member in the musical "Grease" in 2023 and is the role of Brenda in this year's production of "The Pajama Game." Aside from musicals, Macayla has performed in two of Twin Valley's fall plays. She appeared as Al in the comedic One Act, "The Philadelphia" in David Ives's "All in the Timing", and Hildegarde in the play, "Murder at the Orient Express" by Craig Sodaro. She has taken courses through Twin Valley about all aspects of theater such as stage management, tech, directing, dramaturgy, and performance. She has performed at the Pennsylvania State Thespian Conference and is an inducted member of the International Thespian Society. She is looking forward to begin teaching young aspiring actors and share her love for theater. Macayla is also the events coordinator for Twin Valley Theater Arts Club, Twin Valley Tri-M: Music Honors Society, Twin Valley Symphonic Orchestra, and Twin Valley Concert Choir.
